Annual Celebration of Resident and Fellow Teaching Excellence

2nd Annual Celebration of Resident and Fellow Teaching Excellence, November 10-12, 2020

The second Annual Celebration of Resident and Fellow Teaching Excellence was co-sponsored by the Clinical Teaching Collaborative (CTC) and the Office of GME from November 10 - 12, 2020.

Role of Resident and Fellow Physicians as Teachers

Although resident and fellow physicians are in a training role, these medically licensed doctors serve a crucial role in the education of junior residents, medical students, other health care professionals, and patients and their families.
Not only is teaching from our residents and fellows highly encouraged, but it is a requirement of their training program. Residents and fellows are taught how to be effective teachers through lectures, small group discussions, role-play scenarios, and direct observation by faculty.

Thank you Resident and Fellow Physicians

Residents and fellows were sent this appreciation video from Dr. Mark Wilson, Associate Dean and Associate Hospital Director of Graduate Medical Education, and Suresh Gunasekaran, UIHC Chief Executive Officer, so they could express their sincere gratitude to their resident and fellow physicians for their excellent clinical teaching.
