doctor wilson with residents

A message from Mark Wilson, MD, MPH:

University of Iowa Health Care is Iowa’s only comprehensive academic medical center. This includes an adult tertiary care hospital and a children’s hospital, a network of 200+ outreach clinics and programs, and a strong affiliation with the Iowa City Veterans Affairs Medical Center, which is located just next to our Health Sciences campus.

We are recognized for offering outstanding training opportunities. Every specialty is engaged in innovating their clinical education programs to give our learners the perspectives and experiences to meet the health care needs of the nation and the world.

One of our core values is providing individualized mentorship to help our resident and fellow physicians build their best foundation to pursue their aspirations.

One of our core values is providing individualized mentorship to help our resident and fellow physicians build their best foundation to pursue their aspirations.

We believe that all resident and fellow physicians arrive here at the University of Iowa with a range of unique backgrounds and aspirations.

Our job is to help them achieve their dreams.

Three issues to keep in mind about where you pursue Graduate Medical Education, and particularly to consider doing so at the University of Iowa:

  1. We are never satisfied with the status quo. Continuing to push and develop and create the best learning and clinical work environments is critical.
  2. We really value the importance of individualized mentorship to help individuals achieve their potential.
  3. We have an incredibly rich and diverse range of clinical care opportunities as well as cutting edge patient care experiences.

It’s all right here at Iowa:

The opportunities, the environment, and the people to help you succeed and follow the career path you envision.
