Recruitment Process

Qualifications

The residency program consists of three years of postgraduate study.

Entry into the first year is open to applicants who have completed medical school at an LCME-approved school. To be considered by our program, international graduates must be either citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. and ECFMG-certified at the time of application.

Applicants must have passed both Steps 1 and 2 of the USMLE with a maximum of three attempts each. If Step 3 has not been passed, the first passage of either Step 1 or 2 must not have occurred more than five years before the entry date into the program for which the applicant is applying.

Applicants must have passed the clinical skills test of the USMLE or the Performance Evaluation of the COMLEX on the first attempt and have taken no more than five years total to complete medical school.

When openings occur at the second-year level, applications will be accepted from physicians who have completed an internship. Upon successful completion of the graduate study program, the resident will be eligible for examination leading to certification by the American Board of Family Medicine.
