The Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship at the University of Iowa is a one-year ACGME-accredited program that enables fellows to provide clinical services for all pediatric surgical specialties, including neuro, cardiac, craniofacial plastic surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, urology, otolaryngology and solid organ transplants. Last year, the Department of Anesthesia performed over 7900 anesthetics on infants and children.
The new University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital opened in February - April 2017, with eight state-of-the-art operating rooms. UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital is Iowa’s only comprehensive children’s hospital and academic medical center.
