Our residents are a fun-loving, talented, and close-knit group who share a passion for merging primary care with the mental health sector. They frequently pull their knowledge and experiences together to function as a team, which is arguably the program's biggest strength.

Our equally diverse and accomplished faculty mentor residents from their first rotation to graduation day and beyond. University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics is home to two combined training programs, and as such, has a large community of dual-trained faculty. Residents work closely with these faculty members, but also form strong relationships with other faculty members, particularly those who are experts in their area of interest.
