Welcome

Our Clinical Neurophysiology program at the University of Iowa offers exposure to EEG, EMG/NCS, intraoperative monitoring, and sleep, in a one-year ACGME-accredited program. Fellows work with adult and child epileptologists in the epilepsy monitoring unit and outpatient clinics, where they are exposed to management of seizures including vagus nerve stimulation and epilepsy surgery. In addition, they participate in intraoperative monitoring, continuous bedside EEG monitoring in the ICU, and sleep disorders clinic. Fellows also work with neuromuscular experts, participate in these adult and child outpatient clinics, and study muscle and nerve pathology. This program offers a broad exposure to clinical neurophysiology which can be tailored to the needs of each fellow, and we also have the expertise needed to offer opportunities for research in these areas.
