Internal Medicine - Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship

Welcome to the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship, a 12-month program that consists of  75% inpatient care and 25% ambulatory care. 

Fellowship Program Goals

Through diverse clinical experiences, formal instruction, feedback and mentoring, the Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Fellow will be able to:

  • proficiently manage the advanced heart failure patient through the continuum of care, from the initial evaluation process through long-term follow-up care.
  • manage short and long-term complications of transplant recipients.
  • utilize UNOS guidelines and criteria for cardiac transplantation.
  • apply multidisciplinary protocols to patient care.
  • function effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary care team.
  • obtain research experience in the Cardiomyopathy Treatment Program.
