Internal Medicine - Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship

Welcome

Welcome to the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship, a comprehensive 12-month program designed to provide fellows with in-depth training in the management of advanced heart failure, heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support. The program consists of approximately 75% inpatient care and 25% ambulatory care, ensuring a balanced and immersive clinical experience. Fellows will develop proficiency in managing patients across the continuum of care, from initial evaluation through long-term follow-up, while also addressing short- and long-term complications of transplant recipients. Training emphasizes the application of UNOS guidelines for cardiac transplantation, the integration of multidisciplinary protocols in patient care, and effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary care team. Additionally, fellows will have the opportunity to gain research experience within the Cardiomyopathy Treatment Program, further enhancing their expertise in this specialized field.
