I chose this program due to the friendliness of the residents and faculty, the medical education track and the location. Now that I'm here, it has exceeded all of my expectations. I absolutely LOVE my co-residents (both in my class and above). My first month of intern year was the general neurology service, and I was able to investigate Susac syndrome, cord ischemia, NMO spectrum disorder, and of course, bread-and-butter epilepsy. I'm excited to experience what else is to come!

I'm interested in neuro-immunology and neuro-ophthalmology at the moment. I'd like to stay in the academic setting, and go into medical education as well as bioethics. 

I started playing the ukulele during my last year of medical school, and now I own five ukuleles! After moving to Iowa, I joined a hip hop studio in the community (All the Way Up studio). Now, I'm looking into training for the Cedar Rapids Turkey Trot 5K on Thanksgiving.
