Three Thoughts for Your Graduate Medical Education

Mark Wilson, MD, MPH, associate dean for Graduate Medical Education, has mentored medical trainees throughout much of his career. In his mind, here are the program features you should consider to determine where you will get the most from your vital residency training.

Overview

Where you pursue your graduate medical education has a large impact on the quality of your training and where that training will lead you in your career. Iowa's combination of dedicated faculty, nationally rated programs, outstanding facilities, competitive salaries and benefits, and a livable university community make it a choice you'll want to consider.

Training Programs

Our residency and fellowship training programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Because faculty are practicing in an academic medical center, residents and fellows are exposed to rich opportunities to combine clinical and research expertise in a setting that specializes in graduate and professional training in all of the health sciences.
