Why Iowa: I completed my medical school and residency at the University of Iowa, so I knew that the training experience here is excellent. The University of Iowa is the only academic medical center in the state, so we get the opportunity to see a wide breadth and high volume of interesting cases. Additionally, the faculty here are fantastic teachers and clinicians who are highly regarded in their field. Iowa City is also a great place to live, with a good mix of art, music, outdoor activities, and more. These factors made my decision to stay at the University of Iowa an easy choice.
