Nephrology fellows at work

Welcome

The Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Iowa is a two-year, ACGME-accredited program that helps fellows reach the milestones in clinical training and education that will allow them to be successful practicing nephrologists or academic clinicians.

The fellowship has built a tradition of clinical and educational excellence since its establishment in 1965. The dedicated faculty provide an outstanding clinical experience and enthusiastic attention to the education of each fellow.

The Department of Internal Medicine also offers a combined three-year Clinical and Research Pathway for those fellowship candidates interested in gaining experience and competency in both clinical nephrology and nephrology focused research. In addition, a one-year, ACGME-accredited program in transplant nephrology is offered through our Organ Transplant Center.
