About
Why Iowa
Iowa has a great reputation and since it is the state's only comprehensive, tertiary care center there is exposure to all common and rare aspects of neurology. The curriculum provides early subspecialty exposure during the PGY-2 year, and all of the faculty love to teach. My interview with the residents and leadership sealed the deal. Additionally, I visited the area with my wife and daughter during the application season and we fell in love with the area!
Professional/Research Interests
I really enjoy longitudinal care, so I gravitate towards the outpatient setting. Currently interested in movement disorders and neuromuscular medicine, two of the heaviest physical exam subspecialties of neurology. Since I really enjoy teaching, I am considering staying in an academic position after training.
More About Me
Born and raised in Chicago (the actual city!). I'm married and have two kiddos, a lot of my free time is spent playing with them and watching classic Disney movies. I've been collecting sports autographs with my dad since childhood, where we go to Autograph Shows at convention centers and get the autographs in person. Some of my favorites are John Havlicek (jersey), Peyton Manning (helmet, jersey), and Hank Aaron (ball, bat, jersey). I'm also a die-hard Leonardo DiCaprio fan.
