Why Iowa

In addition to excellent, well-rounded training, what drew me to UIHC was the strong sense of community – palpable even through virtual interviews – and how easy it was to build a genuine connection with everyone I met. I could tell pretty quickly that UIHC was a special place and wanted to be surrounded by residents, faculty, and mentors that are as inspiring as they are kind. Iowa City itself has a unique charm, perfectly balancing serenity and adventure, and a wonderful place to build community.

Professional/Research Interests

My subspecialty interests are quite broad at the moment, though my top interests are consistently neuroimmunology/MS and neuromuscular. I find research in environmental exposures and neurodegenerative diseases particularly fascinating and see myself practicing in an academic, predominantly inpatient setting.

More about me/interests

I have been training Capoeira since 2016 and dream of one day attending workshops and events across the globe. I love board games, cooking, photography, and recently started dancing Brazilian Zouk!
