About the Program

The University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences offers a 1-year clinical fellowship which includes both retina genetic eye disease clinics and pediatic genetic eye disease clinics with additional time for a laboratory research project.

The fellow will be trained in the diagnosis and management of the full range of adult and pediatric genetic eye disease including training in obtaining and analyzing electrophysiology, such as the electroretinogram.

We have a faculty of 4 clinical ophthalmic genetic specialists and the resources of the Wynn Institute for Vision Research laboratories as well as the CLIA-approved Carver Lab for molecular diagnostics.
