The Breast Surgery Fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics provides a unique and wonderful year. As the fellow, daily life at the hospital allows you to focus on your breast education learning from experts in the field. You will be able to run your own service directing weekly operative case and clinic coverage, take part in weekly breast tumor board, and provide continuity of care to patient. There are also chances to instruct and teach with residents and medical students. Also, any area of breast oncology that you are passionate about can be channeled into research opportunities. The year will hone your surgical skills and breast care knowledge giving you new techniques and procedures. In addition, life in the college town of Iowa City is never boring and offers a great variety of activities, dining, and entertainment that will ensure a well-balanced year.
