Welcome

Welcome to the virtual home of the Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesia fellowship program at the University of Iowa. Serving as program director is the best part my job. Before coming to Iowa, I trained at University of Chicago and worked at Northwestern. When I got here, I knew this fellowship program was something special. We have only one fellow every year, but a huge diversity of complex cardiac cases that they get exposure to, plus a robust thoracic experience that includes lung transplants, the opportunity to do pediatric and adult congenital heart cases, and a great critical care rotation. Each year, all the faculty in the cardiothoracic division put a tremendous amount of effort into giving our fellow the knowledge base, clinical skillset, and experience to become highly successful in their future career. It really shows in the quality of our fellows and I’m really proud of all our graduates.
