The primary mission of the University of Iowa Neuropathology Fellowship is to prepare trainees for the practice of neuropathology in academic, private practice, or military settings. The mission is accomplished through combinations of basic or clinical research, teaching and the provision of high-quality, state-of-the-art patient care. Our premise is that trainees learn best through hands on exposure to a wide variety and large volume of clinical material and graded personal responsibility appropriate to their level of experience. The training program has enough flexibility to tailor elements to individual fellows.
