University of Iowa faculty have strong interests in medical retina and research, with several of our faculty not operating to focus on their areas of expertise (e.g. uveitis, inherited eye disease, imaging, tumors). The medical retina fellowship’s schedule is similar to the first-year vitreoretinal fellows with two important exceptions:

1. 1 day per week is free from clinical responsibility to focus entirely on research (clinical or laboratory)
2. No call (retina, anterior segment, or globe)
