About
More About Me
I was born in La Paz, Bolivia (about a 20 hr flight from Iowa counting layovers). When I was 8, my parents and I moved to Virginia where I spent all of my childhood. From a young age, I loved the sciences and while I thought about being a chemist, it was ultimately my passion for helping people that drew me into medicine. During medical school, I noticed that working with children made me the happiest. In neurology I found eternally interesting reading material and a way to help a diverse group of patients of various abilities and ages. My experiences at the University of Iowa have been unforgettable. In the hospital, I find a good fit amongst a group of people who love working with children and care about each other. I've found enough flexibility to accommodate my interests in global neurology while maintaining a well-balanced general curriculum. Outside of work I often fill my time gardening, walking my dog, or practicing piano. My husband and I (both residents) have found Iowa to be exactly the place we were looking for when we matched. We're very excited to see what the future brings!
