Welcome

Thank you for your interest in the Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) Fellowship Program offered by University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

The URPS Fellowship Program at UI Hospitals and Clinics is an ACGME-accredited Fellowship Program for training obstetrician-gynecologists to provide consultative services and comprehensive surgical and non-surgical management of women with pelvic floor disorders, including urinary incontinence, other lower urinary tract disorders, pelvic organ prolapse and childbirth-related injuries. The program’s goal is to train future URPS academic leaders, who will advance the healthcare of women through excellence in clinical care and scientific research.

Why Iowa?

Our faculty members are nationally recognized. We have members who serve as board examiners, sit on editorial boards for FPMRS and obstetrical and gynecology journals and have been editors and contributors to major texts in obstetrics and gynecology.

We have faculty dedicated to teaching. Many of our faculty members have received recognition through the College of Medicine and nationally for their contribution to resident and medical student education. Our faculty are active in research, have NIH and other grant funding and publish and present their findings nationally. In addition to our URPS fellowship, our department of Ob-Gyn houses an ACGME accredited Ob-Gyn residency with 6 residents per year, as well as ACGME accredited fellowship programs in Gynecologic Oncology, Maternal Fetal Medicine and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
