I was born and raised in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and initially moved to the USA for college and then came back for residency and fellowship after attending medical school in Israel. I transferred to the University of Iowa mid-program to be closer to my husband. Here, I found a warm and welcoming team including all the nurses, nurse practitioners, Medical assistants, support staff and attending physicians. The program has given me a solid foundation in Pediatric Neurology. I have enjoyed living in Iowa City where I have enjoyed the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, "the best" dog park and cute quiet neighborhoods. I also like exploring the larger Iowa area where I have enjoyed hiking and the outdoors.  I have found the Midwest, and Iowa in particular, to have the kindest people and it has been a wonderful experience training here.
