Neurosurgery Spine Fellowship

Spine Fellowships are available to post-residency applicants who wish to increase their training in complex spine procedures. The Neurosurgery/Spine Fellowship will provide the candidate an opportunity to actively participate in spine surgery under the supervision of internationally recognized faculty within the University of Iowa Department of Neurosurgery.

The fellow will acquire skills including, but not limited to:

  • Management of pathologies afflicting the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spines, stemming from traumatic, neoplastic, degenerative, congenital or infectious origins.
  • Transoral, transthoracic, transabdominal, and retroperitoneal approaches also will be emphasized.
