About
Why Iowa
It is difficult to just choose one thing! The camaraderie amongst the residents makes our program shine. Our faculty are very accessible, once I pocket dialed someone (while gardening and both on our days off) and they called back within minutes asking if I needed anything or if I needed to staff a patient. I was so embarrassed, but they were very kind and a true demonstration of our faculty being there for us. As for the Iowa City area, I enjoy the ease of living in a Midwest town with "big city" offerings—there is always a new restaurant opening up. We are just 15 minutes away from the lake, the Amana Colonies, and Hancher Auditorium that brings many attractions to town. My husband, two dogs, and I enjoy exploring the towns near us. Our favorite weekend activity is probably a pet friendly patio for brunch, but in the fall it's tailgating while cheering on the Hawks.
