Why Iowa

Having attended the University of Iowa for medical school, I had the opportunity to work first hand with the amazing faculty and providers at Iowa and I knew it was a team I wanted to be a part of. On top of that, I had the privilege working with the amazing patient population we work with at UIHC. With this experience, I knew I wanted to complete my Child Neurology training at UIHC.

More About Me

I was born in Livermore, California. I moved around a lot growing up, but I graduated high school in Cedar Rapids, IA. After high school, I studied Neuroscience and Biology at Johns Hopkins University. I then began working in neuroscience research at the University of New Mexico working on the molecular mechanisms of psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders. I really enjoyed my time working in research, but I found myself spending most of my time in the lab doing bench work, and I wanted to interact more with patients. So I entered medical school at the University of Iowa, and after graduation started my residency in Child Neurology here at UIHC.
