Why Iowa

I chose UIHC because the program is resident centered, AP/CP training is well balanced and the rotations are accommodated in an individualized manner to meet your needs and goals. Faculty is knowledgeable, eager to teach and provide mentorship. The whole team is welcoming, you feel supported and empowered from day one. Here one can definitely learn and have fun along the way. I am happy I joined this family.

Professional/Research Interests

What are your professional interests?
I will pursue a career in a specific area of surgical pathology [to be determined] in a highly academic institution. I want to collaborate with colleagues through research, publishing of articles and textbooks. I also look forward to facilitating the training of the new generation of pathologists, as well as teaching and inspiring medical students to choose pathology as a career path.

What are your research interests?
Surgical Pathology, especially GU, renal, and hematopathology.

What do you do in your free time?

Pathology, teaching and dancing are my passions, I spend most of my time in activities that are related to one of these three areas. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, travel whenever possible, and I like trying new things/activities that push the boundaries of my comfort zone (most recently trapeze classes).
