The RT to B.S. is an online program designed for registered radiologic technologists and nuclear medicine technologists who wish to earn a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in radiation sciences by distance education.
After admission students choose an online modality: cardiovascular interventional (CVI), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), breast imaging (BI), or a multi-modality plan.
A clinical internship is not required for the degree, nor is one provided. Students interested in completing the clinical competency requirements to sit for the advanced ARRT certification exam should contact one of the partnering institutions or seek your own opportunities.
In order to be admitted to the radiation sciences major, students must:
- Pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) radiography, ARRT nuclear medicine, or NMTCB nuclear medicine board certification exam.
- Complete all prerequisite courses.
- Earn a GPA of at least 2.50, not including RT or NMT program courses.
Students may count approved transfer credit toward the required prerequisites; learn more by visiting Transfer Courses in MyUI or Transfer Credit page.
