Meet Brenda Coulter, RN

I just started with UIHC as a Clinical Research Nurse in the Stead Family Department of Pediatrics' Neonatology division in November. I have been working in the Maternal/Child division (most recently Labor/Delivery) in the Quad Cities for 21 years.

I am a proud alumni of the UIHC Children's hospital, where around age 2, I completely drank this institution out of Hawaiian Punch. My mom told me she would wait for nutrition deliveries to the unit every day so she could get more. It was one of the few things I would keep down at the time.

I love being a nurse and working with moms and babies. I can't imagine doing anything other than nursing care. However, I do think I might retire to go work in a florist shop one day. I have to find a green thumb first, though.

I've been married to Jeremy for 20 years. I have two teenagers (who act like they are going on 40). We currently don't have a lot of free time, as we are renovating our house!

If you were granted three wishes, what would they be?
1. Eating Reeses and tacos would make you lose weight.
2. Someone would invent a working transporter.
3. COVID-19 would completely go away.

Welcome to the Department, Brenda!
