To provide the highest quality clinical education for our resident and fellow physicians, Program Directors rely on a range of colleagues who make significant educational contributions.  This institutional award provides opportunity for Program Directors to recognize non-physician health care team members for their outstanding performance in interprofessional education and practice that helps create the next generation of stellar physicians.  Terry was nominated by a number of department leaders and trainees, whose endorsements included the following statements:

• “As a decedent care specialist, he uses his many years of experience both at the University and as a mortician to assist and teach externs and residents the different aspects of the evisceration process.”
• “I have always appreciated his willingness to take the time to answer questions.”
• “Terry has been a role model in professionalism and technical skill for every resident he's worked with since joining UIHC eight years ago. Whether interacting with patient's families, medical students, residents, or faculty, he embodies compassion and generosity.”
• “He is always willing to take time to teach and does so with patience and enthusiasm. He is incredibly respectful of decedent's families and often helps ease their burden of a lost loved one by providing information about the autopsy process while also maintaining utmost empathy.”
• “His cheery attitude and generally hilarious demeanor bring much-needed liveliness to what can be, at times, a psychologically heavy rotation.”
