The University of Iowa Center for SUDEP Research recently enrolled its 50th subject in our study of respiratory physiology of epilepsy patients. This NIH funded study, a collaboration between George Richerson, MD, PhD, Brian Gehlbach, MD, Rup Sainju, MBBS & Mark Granner, MD, is aimed at identifying biomarkers for epilepsy patients at high risk of sudden death and methods to prevent death.
