Current Fellows

Stephania Cavallaro Moronta, MD

(2023-2024)

Stephania graduated summa cum laude from medical school in La Universidad del Zulia in Maracaibo, Venezuela, where she grew up. She completed Pediatrics residency at Holtz Children's Hospital/University of Miami in Miami, Florida. She is currently a first-year Fellow at the University of Iowa, our internationally recognized neonatal Hemodynamics program and echocardiography was the most significant deciding element in her choice to complete neonatal training at the University of Iowa. Her research interest includes patent ductus arteriosus physiology, genetics, and targeted neonatal echocardiography to manage treatment.

John (Jack) Wren, Jr., MD, PhD

(2023-2024)

Dr. Wren received his MD, PhD from Wake Forest School of Medicine and completed his residency in Pediatrics at St. Louis Children's Hospital. He went on to Washington University in St. Louis where he completed the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship before coming to the University of Iowa to begin his Neonatal Hemodynamics Fellowship in July 2023.
